You keep attributing a desire for technobabble to me, and that is just simply not accurate. Some consistency might be nice though.

I just want to know how (among other things, but we'll go with this example for now), if every other vessel in Star Wars has these pretty lit-up engines, why didn't the Death Star? I would assume that without the pretty blue or red engines, it would be a true battle station, and not travel from one side of the Yavin system to the other, let alone from the Galactic Core to the Outer Rim.

As I said, I'm willing to suspend my disbelief to enjoy a movie, but shouldn't there be some degree of technological consistency? Even in real life, a tiny raft is just like an aircraft carrier. It needs something to move it, otherwise it just sits there.

the person clearly has no idea what new orleans is like, geographically, and what exactly this did to people's lives. if any of their snow storms ever evacuate 80% of their population for more than 6 months (and counting), then maybe they can talk. basically they're comparing apples to oranges and somehow amazed that its not the same thing. moreover they seem to think that towns that tend to have 10% or fewer minorities have less racial trouble. wow. amazing. when i lived in new orleans i had fewer troubles with snow chains on my tires.

I'm just not stupid enough to think it was because snow chains aren't actually trouble.
