Someone in Serre Che is thinking about importing tuktuks to take his guests to the ski lifts in the morning. I'd rather walk and keep warm.
cest bien serre che ?
Thanks for providing a bona fide user comment about ReclaimPrivacy dot org. I've been reading about their existence the past few days (they are entirely donation funded!) but nothing about anyone who tried it. Seems like anti-spyware for my Facebook profile, which is certainly something I could benefit from.
What do you think about this diaspora dot org alternative to Facebook? Talk about good timing for them! But I don't really understand their open Facebook concept. Similarly, I don't understand how that is different than OpenLike, another open source effort that is to be an FB alternative. But that might be due to my computing literacy, or lack thereof.
Interesting points! I saw this first-hand when I was still the webmaster of a dot-org affiliated with my current dot-org. We were archiving materials for scholars in developing countries whose mentality was “If you have this information, why not freely share it with everyone? If you're not willing to give it away, it must not be valuable” etc, while using a western business model. The whole project has become an epic FAIL so we now throw around terms like “sustainability” but really, I think the culture clash played a huge role in its demise.
