Spend Saturday afternoon at the action-packed opening of Armed & Dangerous: The Art of the Arsenal. Check out weapons and armor from across the centuries and continents. Marvel at the craftsmanship of swords, scimitars, and shields. Learn how indigenous animals the world over served as inspiration for the tools of war. Try on Samurai battle gear and knights’ helmets right next to the authentic artifacts, and hide yourself in plain sight with camouflage. During the opening party there will demonstrations of medieval and Roman weaponry; chances to wield replica weapons (under supervision); and live animals with unique offensive and defensive characteristics, including a live alligator, a hedgehog, and a skunk.
